Getting food into mouth

As you can see Gregory is eating very well. He gets food in his mouth, on his face, and everywhere else just to be sure that you know he ate. Fortunately this only happens sometimes. Gregory does a very good job getting the food in his mouth when it is something he likes. Yes, there may be a bit left over on his lips or his cheek, but really he can do a good job at eating when he wants to. Let me not forget about his manners. Gregory will say peeeeeasse (please) and tue-tue (thank you) for almost anything. If he forgets to be polite I will ask him “what do you say?” Then Gregory will respond with one or the other he usually picks the correct one to say, but occasionally he mixes the two up. Gregory also waited to eat his oatmeal this morning until we had said prayers first. Usually he just digs in and then stops to hold hands when it is prayer time.
I am so glad Gregory has figured out how to feed himself, because one hard thing for a blind person to do is find a baby’s mouth with a spoon. When Gregory was first starting to eat baby food I could get the food everywhere but his mouth. Of course I got better as time went passed but it was still hard. I am just glad not to have to do it, except for every now and then, but now Gregory moves his mouth to the spoon instead of me having to put the spoon in his mouth.
When I took this picture Gregory was in an “I want to play with my food and there is nothing you can do about it Momma” mood. You got to love his choice of toys.

You're right. There's far more co-ordination involved than most people appreciate. There again, it's also just fun to play.
Best wishes
